One of the mistakes that I made and learned from on this project was that I did not plan out my structure so ended up with a solid mane instead of a hollow one. To fix this I had to flip over the whole face and scrape out the excess clay without cutting through to the front!

I used three different iron oxide staines on the mane.

Then I layered stroke-n-coat glaze on the face and highlights on mane.

Glazes can be surprising colors before they get fired.

I planned out my glaze colors before I began to layer.
